Cloth Diapers

I completely surprised myself recently and switched to cloth diapers. My older sister started using cloth diapers recently, and then a good friend switched too. After talking with both of them, I was up at night thinking about whether or not I should try it. It seemed like God was nudging me to try them. So...about a month ago, I went for it. I have no regrets. I really love them actually. They are soo cute and soft. I almost feel bad when I have to put a disposable diaper on him, because they don't seem nearly as comfortable. I feel good about keeping thousands of diapers out of landfills too.

Purpose of this Blog

I decided to start a blog as an encouragement to Christian moms of infants and toddlers who choose to parent with attachment parenting techniques. There's a lot of different advice out there for how to care for babies. Unfortunately, it seems like churches can be the source of some of the worst advice out there. I'm continually shocked at all the advice that goes so contrary to God's design for mothering. For example, I am in awe of the fact that my body lets down milk at just the sound of my baby's cry. Clearly, God intended nursing to be a comfort for babies. There are those that say you shouldn't nurse your baby every time they cry, but I want to encourage you that God has designed you to meet your baby's needs. Do what feels best, and don't worry about spoiling your baby. Consistently meeting your baby's needs for food/comfort/touch/etc. will foster independence in the toddler years.
